In days past, dive profiles were calculated from the surface to a maximum depth and back to the surface again. Today, dive computers continuously analyze your depth – and give you more bottom time to go shallower and maximize your dive time. If you are interested in learning more about dive computers and learning how you can use tools like eRDPMLTM to plan multilevel dives, the Multilevel Diver Specialty course is for you.
If you are a PADI (Junior) Open Water Diver and you are at least 12 years old, you can enroll in the Multilevel Diver course.
You will review decompression theory as it relates to multilevel diving and dive computer models, and plan multilevel dives using eRDPML. During the first of your two multilevel dives, you will plan and execute a two-level dive, and on the second dive, you will perform a three-level dive.
Get credit! The first dive of this PADI Specialty Diver course can serve as an Adventure Dive credit towards your Advanced Open Water Diver certification – ask your instructor about getting credit.
Along with your basic dive equipment, you will want to have your own dive computer and a dive log to record dive information. Ask your PADI Instructor or local dive center staff what additional equipment you may need for your multilevel dives.
Stop by your local PADI Dive Center and Resort to sign up for the course, and get the eRDPML and Instruction for Use booklet. Start by learning how to use this multilevel dive planner on your own before meeting with your PADI Instructor.
